Privacy Policy

SheetTamer is operated by GG Consulting, LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do not collect. We have tried to write it plainly rather than defensively.

The short version

When you use the portal, your spreadsheet never leaves your computer. The check runs inside your browser. Only the findings and basic file metadata are sent to us.

When you use the free teardown, your file is uploaded so we can analyze it, held in memory only for the length of that request, and never written to disk or kept.

What we collect

If you use the free teardown

The workbook you upload. It is parsed in memory to produce your report and is never stored. We do not retain a copy, and we cannot retrieve it afterwards.
If you choose to unlock the full report: your email address, an optional business name, and counts of the findings by type. The counts are numbers only. We do not store cell contents, formulas, figures, or sheet names from a teardown.

If you create a workspace

Your name, email address, and a hashed password. We never store the password itself.
Your organization name and the industry you select.
For each check you run: the file name, when it ran, who ran it, and the findings. Findings include the sheet name and cell reference of each issue.
An audit log of security relevant events such as sign in, password change, and member changes, together with the IP address they came from.

What we never collect

The contents of any spreadsheet checked through the portal. It is never transmitted.
Payment card numbers. If and when billing is introduced, card details will be handled by a payment processor and will not reach our servers.

Turning off finding details

Findings normally include a short explanation that quotes figures from your workbook, because that is what makes the finding useful. If you would rather we did not keep that text, an owner or admin can switch finding details off in Settings. We then store only the structural facts: sheet, cell, and category.

Site analytics

We count our own visitors. When you view a page we record the page, the time, where you came from, and a random session identifier that lives only in your browser tab. We use no third-party analytics, no advertising trackers, and no tracking cookies. The counts tell us which pages matter; they are not joined to your account or your identity.

Why we collect it

To run the service, which is the basis for account and check data.
To keep accounts secure, which is the basis for audit logs and sign in records.
With your consent, to send you your teardown report and to contact you about the product. You can withdraw this at any time by replying to any message or writing to us.

Who else sees it

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising. We use a small number of providers to operate the service:

Amazon Web Services for hosting, storage, and sending email.
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for hosting.

We disclose information if required by law, and we will tell you unless we are prohibited from doing so.

How long we keep it

Uploaded teardown files: not kept at all.
Account and check history: for as long as your workspace is open, and then for up to 90 days after you close it, so that an accidental deletion can be undone.
Audit logs: up to 24 months, because they exist to investigate security incidents.
Leads from the teardown: until you ask us to remove them.

Your rights

Whatever jurisdiction you are in, you may ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, export it, or delete it. Write to hello@sheettamer.com and we will respond within 30 days.

We will not hold your records hostage. If your subscription lapses, your workspace becomes read only and stays exportable. We do not delete your history to pressure you into paying.

Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Traffic is encrypted in transit with TLS. Sessions can be revoked immediately, and are revoked automatically when a member is suspended, removed, or has their password changed. Access to each workspace is scoped so that one organization cannot read another's data.

Children

SheetTamer is a business tool and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy materially we will say so on this page and, for account holders, by email before it takes effect.
